Tri City Aikido has provided traditional Japanese Aikido instruction to the Fremont area since 1996. Located at 37427 Fremont Blvd in Fremont, California, our dojo offers Aikido classes for children, teens and adults in a friendly, respectful and non-competitive training environment.
Whether you are completely new to martial arts, looking for Aikido classes for your child, or returning to training after time away, beginners are welcome. No previous martial arts experience is required, and prospective students are invited to experience a free guest lesson before deciding whether Aikido is right for them.
30 Years of Aikido in the Fremont Area
Tri City Aikido was founded in 1996 by Anthony Campagna Sensei, 5th Dan Aikikai. For three decades, the dojo has provided continuous Aikido instruction to students from Fremont, Newark, Union City and surrounding Bay Area communities.
Although Tri City Aikido was originally located approximately one mile away in Newark, our dojo now calls Fremont home. Our location on Fremont Boulevard, directly across from Holy Spirit Church, continues to serve the same Tri-City community we have been part of since our beginning.
Traditional Japanese Aikido
Tri City Aikido is an official satellite dojo of Kumano Juku in Shingu, Japan. Our training maintains a direct connection to traditional Japanese Aikido through Mitsuo Tasaka Shihan, 7th Dan, whose instruction has played an important role in the development of our dojo.
Students learn posture, movement, balance, timing, throws, joint controls, pins and falling skills through progressive partner training. As students develop, training also includes traditional weapons practice with the bokken and jo.
Aikido at Tri City Aikido is not practiced as a competitive sport. There are no tournaments, trophies or matches between students. Training partners work cooperatively while learning techniques that require awareness, control, appropriate attacks and respect for one another.

Our adult program welcomes students age 13 and older, from complete beginners through experienced practitioners.
